an i use a q tip to rub that in too
then i rinse
an im done.
so am i doing it right cause i think it might be infectedAm i taking care of my lip piercing right?
Yeah, it sounds like you're doing fine, but you can skip the Dial soap, its harsh on a new piercing. Use sea salt solution on the outside.
I doubt its infected, lip (and other oral) piercings are hard to get infected, as your mouth has natural enzymes that keep it clean.
Remember that its still healing (and will be for the next 7-10 weeks), and some redness/swelling/irritation is normal.
To help with the irritation, be sure not to touch your piercing, and certainly do not move the jewelry around. Also, keep the cleaning to a max of 2 times a day. Any more, and you're just drying it out (Yes, there is such a thing as ';over-cleaning';).Am i taking care of my lip piercing right?
I'd skip the dial, a lot of people say to use it, but it can dry out the piercing (I've never used it and never once had an infection). Also, you shouldn't be rubbing the crusties off, you should be doing sea salt soaks on the out side, and let them soak off.
Most likely, it's not infected, just irritated.
