How to take care of lip and belly button piercings?

Last night I got both my lip and belly button pierced at a friends house. It was done by a professional piercer but since we were at a friends he didnt really have time to describe the healing process. Dont get me wrong the piercings turned out fine he did a good job i watched him sterilize everything.

I just want to know how to take care of the new piercings I got. I've heard about sea salt mixed with warm water and putting it on the inside and outside of my mouth. And also on my belly button? Any tips anyone has would be great (:How to take care of lip and belly button piercings?
clean it in the shower use a saline solution ( salt water) soak and use a cotton bud to clean around it also a antibac gel before toutching it and mouth wash

good luckHow to take care of lip and belly button piercings?
i have two lip peircings, one i didnt take care of and it hurts alot, i dont think its healed right and its been almost a year, but watch what you put in your mouth, obviously hot foods will sting your peircing and get H2Ocean, works awasooommeee:]

Brush your teeth whenever you can, and they say dont use listerine, but use it, it sterillizes it and makes your mouth smell clean.

it barely stings. but thats how i took care of my first one, and its perfectly healed. the second one, i didnt do most of this stuff and its horribly healed, so trust me on this one.
Alcohol with no mouthwash in it for the inside of the lip and either antibacterial soap or sea salt soaks ( 1/4 teaspoon sea salt and 8 ounces warm water) Do not use Bactine that is bad advice. Bactine doesn't even recommend that you use it for piercings. You rinse your mouth out every time you eat drink or smoke. It takes 6 week to heal don't take it out before then.
Congrats! I don't have my lip done but I got my belly button done 3 years ago. Belly buttons get infected REALLY easily, so don't change the ring for at least 6 months (i know its hard to wait but if you change it early, it will get infected). Get little cups, sea salt and water to put on your belly button (hold the cup while you lay on your bed for 5-10 min). And by bactine spray, and use that morning an night (I did the sea salt at night only). oh and the guy who pierced me said dont use anything like neosporin or healing things because it messes it up, bactine is just an antiseptic. good luck!
?
mouthwash for lip

had (snake bites and a monroe)

it works good.

sea salt for bely button
I wouldn't do the salt mix for the lip because it could burn. Get an alcoholic free mouth wash and use that after every time you eat. I use something called bactine for the outside of my lip piercing. Sorry I don't know anything about the belly piercing.
duno anythin about lip,

but for the belly button in the shower wash it with a antibacterial hand soap like detol.

or you could use salt water and

if your keen like me to use metholayted spirts.
just use a disinfectant

.
Sea salt and warm water are the best way to heal any new piercing, just as you've heard. You can also purchase a pre made product called H2Ocean which is found at piercing places, and you can carry that with you to work or school.

If you choose to make your sea salt solution at home, the proportions are really important because you don't want to dry your piercing out: 8 ounces of warm water to 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt. Make sure all your measuring devices etc are clean. Invert a container of warm sea salt solution over your belly button and just let it soak for 15 or 20 minutes while you drink a cup of coffee or something.

You can use a clean paper towel to soak the outside of your new facial piercing in the same manner.

For the inside of your mouth piercing, get an alcohol FREE mouthwash to rinse your mouth a couple of times a day. Alcohol based products dry out the healing skin cells and make the healing time LONGER, so never use them on any piercing.

The premade H2Ocean spray can be used 4-6 times daily; sea salt soaks I'd do at least once a day...twice if you have time.

The facial piercing will heal much faster than the belly button. Don't change out the jewelry in your navel for at LEAST 6 months; wait 6 weeks or so on the lip piercing, but I'd go to a piercing studio to have them check it for proper healing before you change it.
