I gave myself a lip piercing and i don't know how to take care of it!?

So if someone could give me some tips to care for it that would be great because i have no idea. I really dont want it to get infected to. I think it was a bad idea to do it by my self and i understand that so please dont give me any flack.I gave myself a lip piercing and i don't know how to take care of it!?
When I got my lip pierced they told me to gargle with salt water at least 2-3 times a day, and use a mouthwash like BIOTENE which does not have alcohol and will not dry it out. You should also brush your teeth regularly... They sell special solutions to rub on the outside of your lip, but I found that if you just use the salt water solution it works fine.

Good luck.I gave myself a lip piercing and i don't know how to take care of it!?
Hi, here are my after care sheets. There is also a special section for lip and tongue piercings.

Wash your mouth out with mouthwash everytime you eat or drink.I know it sounds like alot but it keeps it clean.Go to a tattoo shop and ask for h20cean.It will help tons.

NEVER use neosporin!

NEVER use alchohol!

Try not to take out the earing before its healed either.\

That just makes it irritated.
DO NOT EVER USE:

alcohol

peroxide

neosporin

anything like that (it will dry out the piercing and make it want to scab)

get SEA salt and mix it with warm water and soak the piercing for 5 minutes everyday.

don't play with the jewelry unless you just washed your hands with soap.

don't pick at any crusties or try to move the jewelry when it's dry, make sure you're soaked it with sea salt %26amp; warm water before you move the jewelry around to keep the hole from scabbing (but move it gently)

hope i helped. :)

you can also look for piercing care @ google.com
keep it clean. use antibacterial soap on it while you are in the shower. you might also want some of that saline spray to put on it... that helped my belly button heal faster but DO NOT put neosporin on it. it will make the hole totally heel up and your ring will pop out. good luck :]
