Lip piercing help, how to take care?

I got my lip pierced about a week ago with a stud, the swelling has gone down now but I'm just wondering how to tighten it? After I had it done they asked me to tighten it every day, I was just wondering how to? Also, the nail through my lip is quiet long and when I move my mouth around or smile it pushes out, is this normal?Lip piercing help, how to take care?
Yes, that's normal for the stud to be longer than needed. Its because when your lip is first pierced, it swells.


Tighten it, hmm. All the studs i've used have a round, flat backing or are L curves so they don't fall out.


If the backing is able to be pushed or moved further down the stem of the piercing - that's what they mean. It'll make is smaller so it doesn't push out.


If it doesn't, I recommend looking into buying a new stud within the next few weeks. I would keep it in for another week or two before replacing - and NO plastic for at least 2 - 3 months.

and yeahh ive had mine for over a year and its a smaller bar now and it still pushes out when i smile.
