Care of lip piercings?

so i'm thinking about getting one.


but i want to know about the care.


i've read about the care of them during the healing process, but do you do that even after it has healed completely? or do you just do it during the healing process?

and i've heard some people have said it's hurt, some people said the opposite, so i get that :]


and the healing, it takes a different amount of time for different people..makes sense


i also was wondering if any of you awesome people have any suggestions as to persuade my parents to let me get a lip piercing


they probably won't anyways cause they are pretty strict about those kind of things, but maybe i could just make them think about it somehow?

Care of lip piercings?
I don't know how old you are, but any reputable piercing shop won't do a facial piercing on anyone under 16. With that said, the healing process generally involves warm water mixed with sea salt 2-4 times a day. Gargle it, and get it on a paper towel and clean the outer hole. After it's healed (yeah, different for everybody), you don't HAVE to do anything to it, but it's smart to clean it 1-2 times a week just to make sure it doesn't reject later. On a scale of 1-10, I'd say a lip piercing was a 4-5, but it's different for everyone.





I was 14 when I tried to get my first piercing and my Mom said no until I was 15. She finally agreed to go to the piercing studio with me and just talked to all the piercers and learned as much as she could. I'd say the best way is to be honest with your parents about WHY you want the piercing, and present them with a loooooooooooot of information. Chances are your parents don't care so much about how it looks, but that you're ';putting a hole in your face.'; She eventually said yes and I got my first piercing on my 16th birthday. my lip piercing still has not healed completely and i don't clean it every single day or anything, and it doesn't hurt, well mine didn't.. it depends on your pain tolerance but its nothing you can't bare, and i don't know what you could say to your parents to let you have one, how old are you btw?
think about what ur doing first, what kind of job do u want when u get older? do u want to be a Business tycoon? u cant be one if u have that piercing. i would not hire u to moe my lawn if u have piercings like that... think about what ur doing first..ok
