They will talk to you and probably give you a care-sheet. Just got mine done 5 days ago.
My piercer said not to use alcohol or peroxide as this disrupts cell regeneration. I rinse with water-diluted Crest Pro-Health moutwash after eating, drinking, etc, and I use this spray called ';H2Ocean'; that they sell. I also rinse my mouth with a salt-water solution, as well, and clean off the lymph that forms. It doesn't hurt at all now unless I bump it, or while I twist it.
When I got it done she had my close my eyes and inhale through my nose, exhale through my mouth. As soon as I exhaled, she shoved the needle through. It kind of caught me by suprise. I kind of gave a slight moan and it did hurt, but it was completely temporary. Even later that night it didn't really hurt, but I was aware that it was there and slightly... sore? No lasting pain, though. How do you take care of a lip piercing ? Does it hurt ?
I just got mine done on Friday, I didn't even feel the initial piercing... now a couple days later its just a tiny uncomfortable. I use Listerine but I am fixing to switch to gargling with salt water solution cause I think mine is starting to get infected from me playing with it :/... DO NOT PLAY WITH IT...lol you don't have to rotate it a bunch if anything it will prolong the healing time.
Aftercare. Sea salt soaks - 1/8tsp in a cup of hot water, leave to cool and then dab it on with a cotton bud. Alcohol free mouthwash for the inside. Sea salt soaks are better, but they taste gross, so mouthwash is good. Twice a day. Some people say rinse with mouthwash after every meal, but I find a glass of water works just as well, to get all the bits out.
Get a labret stud, not a ring. Make sure its long enough for swelling. Don't twist it or fiddle with it while its healing. Try not to bite it? Stock up on ibruprofen if you can take it, its helps with swelling.
I think thats about it? Piercer should give you instructions though.. But if you're like me, you forget what they said.
Don't clean it with alcohol, peroxide or neosporin, anything like that. If the piercer tells you to, ignore them completely, and maybe find a different one for next time.
was the outside with anti-bacterial soap 1 to 2 times a day and gargle with sea salt water 2 to 3 times a day (or you could purchase H2Ocean where you just spray it on the inside and outside 2 to 3 times a day and you're done)
it doesnt hurt but then again some people have different pain levels so i guess you'll just have to find out for ur self, theyll tell u to clean it out with saline solution everday and after eating and just a lil tip dont try changing lip rings to fast it can get infected.
It does hurt ,I mean your sticking something through your lip!
But its not that bad.
I cleaned the outside with alcohol.
And after eating I gargled saltwater.
for about 5 weeks.
