How do you take care of your lip piercing?

i want to get a lip piercing, and i was wondering how you (if you have a lip piercing), take care of your piercing and your pierced lip to make sure it dosn't get infected.

also do you know the best place on the bottom lip to get one? where it wont disturb your gums or teeth so much?

...oh an i had a friend that wanted to know that if you can squirt water out of the hole in your lip. ...yea...=PHow do you take care of your lip piercing?
Keep your mouth clean! That's the biggest thing. Brush your teeth and rinse either with mouthwash, or a sea salt and warm water mixture. Also use non fragrance face washes on the outside as well as sea salt and water. That's how I kept mine clean. i have a labret and i've barely had it a year and I'm thinking of taking it out because it's been rubbing on my gums too long. I think even if you get the sides of your lips pierced it would be the same, but I'm not sure. Just don't expect to get a long wear out of it unless you use plastic or non metal jewelry. i have snakebites. when i got them pierced, the piercer told me to rinse my mouth out with biotene. biotene is a mouthwash that contains enzymes instead of alchohol. the chemicals in other mouthwashes like listerine irritate the piercing. and clean the front with some antibacterial soap and distilled water (saline solution works great!). as long as you make sure to rinse your mouth out with the biotene after you eat, you should be fine. when you get your lip pierced you are also advised not to kiss anyone for a week, but i didnt follow that rule and my lip piercings came out fine.

and to answer your friends question, no, you can not squirt water out of your lip piercings, unless you stretch them to like a 12 (but i would not advise that)
How to clean: all you have to do is get NON- iodized sea salt and mix 1/4 teaspoon with 8 oz of water and use a cotton ball to clean it with the solution will get inside the piercing.

Where: most of my friends that have their lip pierced say it's better on one of the corners.

and I'm pretty sure you can squirt water out of it because I can squirt it out of my labret
the professional piercer will give you ALL the information you need about cleaning it, keeping it clean, and general care. They also will make sure the piercing is in an area that will not bother your gums and teeth.
go talk to a piercing specialist, your best bet to get a straight forward answer as to every question you need to ask. their your best bet to get the facts from.
Not a good idea. I know someone who's lip splitted and whitish stuff grew on it :(
first tip would be don't give head until it is totally healed
