I got it pierced yesterday, and I've been using mouthwash like 6 times a day. And rubbing it a little with alcohol. And using mouthwash after i eat. And i've been washing my hands often.. Anything else I should be doing? How do you take care of your lip after you pierce it?
Best thing to do is go to almost any peircing place call around or whatever or buy it off the internet it's call H2ocean, its a sanitary salt water solution that you just spray on your piercings and it is the greatest thing ever to use for it. Just make sure especially while it is healing that you keep the crust that builds up just outside of the pierced part of your lip is cleaned off very very well, what I used to use was a q tip and I took the cotton part off and just use the hard plastic piece to scrap it gently. If you don't get H20 then use ONLY dove soap and make sure the ring is cleaned off well and make sure you move it around tho it will hurt, it will take a little longer to heal but it's best to keep it clean. Mouthwash is more than fine to use but I wouldnt use any kind of rubbing alcohol because it must hurt like an SOB and it's unneeded though it's not like it's a problem that you have used it.How do you take care of your lip after you pierce it?
Please don't use alcohol! It tends to dry out the skin, irritating the piercing, and drastically lengthening healing times.
Use an antibacterial soap like Dial and wash the piercing with sea salt: 录 teaspoon sea salt per 8oz (one cup) of distilled warm water.
Mouthwash is great after meals, as long as it doesn't contain alcohol.
Also, don't play with it.. this will greatly reduce your chances of infection. Good luck! I left some sites that deal with aftercare if you want to study up.
